2011 is proving to kick ass music wise, that is, if you look in the right places.

I have dug up a new little gem that I’m hopeful you will like or have heard of. Her name is K.Flay and although she originally hailed as the “Suburban Rap Queen” of Chicago, we had to claim her as our own since she is a Stanford Grad and currently resides and tears up the city by the bay. 

K.Flay blows my mind. simply put. featured today is her smart sample of a personal favorite of mine, Grizzly Bear’s “Two Weeks”, with crushing lyrics and a voice that, although can be harsh at times, makes me melt… So when someone comments on one of her videos “Why is Nicki Minaj big and K.Flay isn’t?” you will understand.

K.Flay isn’t just about remixing.. she does have a self titled EP out and a collab with another bay area native MC Lars.. I highly recommend taking a gander at each.

K.Flay is also on tour currently with bay area bad boy, Wallpaper.
